One of the great things about mIRC is the ability to play sound wavs. When you play a wav if someone else in the channel has the same file name it plays on their computer also. There are several commands that can be used to play wavs. One of the easiest to use is what we call a hot key. One of the F number keys. I use F12, LOL ok ask me why I use F12...."cause Lynda said so", she was one of my first IRC friends!

The command for this goes in your alias files.
/f12 /sound $file="choose" c:\mirc\sounds\ !
You can copy this command and paste it in your alias. Make sure you have it directed to where your sound files are located. Not sure where they are, go to your General Options, and look in the sounds folder, it will tell you there.

Or if you want to play a wav to someone not in the same channel your in, try this command.
/sound persons NICK wav name.wav
A message can also be added.
/sound persons NICK wav name.wav YOUR MSG

You can also add a sound wav to play along with your pop ups! The numbers are the color codes. To add color use the Ctrl and k keys. This will show you a colored numbered coded chart. Just type in the number of the color you wish to use.

Above is a small sample that can be copied and pasted into your pop ups.
